We can collectively feel the positive impacts of digital technology transformation, including broad access to information content, the ease of creating our information through social media, democracy, and citizen journalism compensating for public dissatisfaction with media and politics, among others. However, in the atmosphere of postmodernism, which envisions the realization of a plural society, the post-truth era has led to a strong phenomenon of exclusive truth claims over one’s beliefs. Society becomes more susceptible to misinformation due to the development of ideologically and belief aligned communities. On the other hand, digital technology contributes to the confusion of truth, as virality is considered more important than the quality of information and ethics.
The presence of this book “The Anthology of Essays on Building Up Noble Character: Issues on Humanity and Diversity” is part of the academic community’s efforts concerned with character and diversity issues to contribute intellectually to the problems above, of course, with various perspectives and knowledge horizons from the authors.
