This book started from socio-actual about the problem of sexuality which still become a controversial issue and recognized as taboo to be spoken in the Moslem public discourse, especially in Pesantren. The debate about sexual health and right still become controversy both in national or international forum, especially from the perspective of Kyai-Nyai Pesantren, because they are very ihtiyath (careful) as religious leader, cultural broker and become references of moslem community in many problems.
The perspective of Kyai-Nyai about the sexual right and reproductive health, in some issue there is significance progress that some of Kyai-Nyai views equal position between men and women related with the discourse of sexuality, such a right for enjoying sexual, refusing sex for wife, sexual violence, contractual marriage and also family planning. But in the other sides, some of Kyai-Nyai still conservative and textual minded, and there is who dare to contextualize and change the law based on intra-doctriner-reform. The issues where they have different opinion, like abortion, early marriage, circumcision, polygamy and the right for an information about sexuality. Some Kyai-and Nyai who dare to have understanding beyond textual basis they are engage with the discourse of gender, health reproduction and other contemporary issue from a training, seminar, colloquium and they received an empirical data, so they can formulate law not only from the textual basis but also seeing empirical fact behind the phenomena. There for, They are very sensitive with the problem relating to the issues of the sexual right and the reproductive health.
